* Saturday, May 26, 9 AM – Fort King George Canoe Excursion. Meet at the Fort in Darien. Canoe trip on the majestic Altamaha River. This trip will run from Miller Lake, down the Altamaha, and take out at Barrington Lake. Visitors will pass by historic bluffs, one of which was home to famous Georgian Mary Musgrove in the colonial era. The trip lasts approximately 4 hours and will involve guided natural and historical interpretation. Canoes, paddles, and life jackets are included. The “Jaguars Caravan” will also be in town, and includes music, cheerleaders and players signing autographs. The caravan bus will be parked on Gloucester Street at Grant.
